First, What This Page Actually Is

palottery.pa.gov/jackpot-posters/default.aspx?g=megamillions is not a player page and not a place to check numbers. It’s one of the Pennsylvania Lottery’s retailer point-of-sale tools — a generator that produces a printable Mega Millions jackpot poster showing the current advertised jackpot, so licensed retailers can post an accurate amount in the window or at the counter.

The ?g= parameter simply swaps the game. Sibling pages exist for:

  • ?g=powerball — Powerball
  • ?g=match6 — Match 6
  • ?g=cash5 — Cash 5 with Quick Cash
  • ?g=thunt — Treasure Hunt

It lives under the Posters section of the retailer area (/About-PA-Lottery/Retailers/Posters.aspx), alongside two other poster families you can download as static PDFs:

  • “We Sold A Winner” posters — Mega Millions, Powerball, Match 6, Cash 5, PICK 5, Treasure Hunt, Fast Play, Scratch-Offs, Millionaire Raffle
  • Winning Numbers posters — Mega Millions, Powerball, Cash 5
  • Other — the “18 To Play” age notice

No contact is needed to use it. Load the page, generate, print. You only need to reach a human when something below goes wrong.

1. The Page Won’t Load — “The URL you requested has been blocked”

This is the single most common failure, and it usually isn’t a bug.

The PA Lottery website is geo-restricted to the United States. Traffic from outside the U.S. — including anyone on a VPN, a corporate proxy that egresses abroad, or some mobile carrier routes — gets:

“Pennsylvania Lottery is currently available only within the USA. If you are receiving this message in error, please restart the app. If you continue to see this error please contact Player Services.”

Fix it yourself first: disconnect any VPN or proxy, confirm you’re on a U.S. connection, and reload.

Still blocked? Call 1-800-692-7481, option 1, then option 9 for website technical support. Have your retailer number and your public IP address ready — that’s what they’ll need to diagnose a bad geo-lookup.

2. The Poster Prints the Wrong Jackpot Amount

Jackpot figures are estimates that roll after each drawing, and a cached page is the usual culprit. Hard-refresh the page before printing.

If the generated amount genuinely disagrees with what your terminal shows, treat it as a data issue and call General Retailer Assistance at 1-800-692-7481. For a quick independent check of the drawing outcome, the 24-hour Drawing Results Hotline is 1-877-282-4639.

3. You Need Physical Point-of-Sale Materials, Not a PDF

The jackpot poster page gives you something to print in-store. For shipped materials — playslips, ticket stock, ribbons, Scratch-Off inventory — that’s a different number:

Tel-Sell Team: 1-888-393-4744

For anything else POS-related, or if you’re unsure which channel applies, your area Lottery office is the right call (see the map below).

4. Your Terminal or Printer Is the Real Problem

If the poster is fine but the equipment isn’t, skip the general line:

Equipment Service & Repair: 1-800-692-7353

5. You Can’t Log Into the Retailer Portal

The Retailer Portal (paretailer.lottery.state.pa.us) is separate from the public site. Website technical support is 1-800-692-7481, option 1, then option 9.

For corporate-account matters, the Corporate Sales team is reachable directly at 717-702-8090 (Director) and 717-702-8092 (Deputy Director).

6. You’re Not a Retailer Yet

To talk with a Lottery representative about becoming a licensed PA Lottery retailer — which is what unlocks the poster tools in the first place — call 717-702-8080.
