On 21 August 2026 Shoppers Stop and RBL Bank launched three Visa cards — Gold, Platinum and Black. This guide tells you whom to call for an application, First Citizen points, a missing welcome voucher, a blocked card, or a formal complaint.

Split the ticket correctly. Shoppers Stop owns the store, First Citizen membership and fashion/beauty benefits. RBL Bank is the card issuer — credit limit, statements, PIN, interest, KYC and blocking sit with the bank. Calling the store about a declined swipe wastes a day.

Shoppers Stop Limited told BSE (code 532638) and NSE (symbol SHOPERSTOP) that it has launched a three-tier co-branded Visa portfolio with RBL Bank: RBL Bank Shoppers Stop Gold, Platinum and Black Credit Cards. The press release is also on the company’s investor site. All three also earn 4 reward points per ₹200 on eligible spends outside Shoppers Stop, subject to monthly caps and the bank’s terms. Joining fees, renewal fees, forex mark-up and interest are not in the press release — ask RBL for the Key Fact Statement (KFS) and MITC before you sign.

4. How to apply and how to follow up

Step 1 — Decide the variant, then read the KFS

The press release is marketing, not the contract. Before you sign, ask the desk for RBL’s Key Fact Statement and Most Important Terms and Conditions: joining / renewal fee, GST, interest, late fee, cash-withdrawal fee, reward caps, and what “Shoppers Stop universe” includes (department stores, SS Beauty, Intune, airport doors, shoppersstop.com).

Step 2 — Apply in a store or through RBL

1. Carry PAN, Aadhaar, a cancelled cheque or bank statement, and your First Citizen number if you already have one.
2. At a Shoppers Stop (115 department stores listed in the release), ask for the RBL co-branded card desk. Instant issuance still needs bank underwriting — “instant” means the plastic or virtual card after approval, not a guaranteed yes.
3. Or apply on rbl.bank.in credit cards once the Gold / Platinum / Black pages are live, or at an RBL branch (locate-us).
4. Keep the application / reference number. Track it at rbl.bank.in/track-app-status.

Step 3 — After approval

• Activate on the RBL MyCard app, set a PIN, and switch the card on.
• Link or upgrade First Citizen (Gold / Platinum / Black) at the store or via Shoppers Stop customer care. One First Citizen number maps to one online email ID.
• Ask, in writing, when the welcome voucher and gift will hit — the release does not give a credit timeline.
• Do the first Shoppers Stop swipe if a welcome benefit requires it (common on RBL cards).

6. Safety and what the launch does not say

• Nobody from Shoppers Stop or RBL will ask for your full card number + CVV + OTP on WhatsApp. Hang up and call 022 6232 7777 yourself.
• The release does not publish joining fees, income cut-offs or credit-score rules. Approval is not guaranteed because Sara Ali Khan unveiled the card.
• Reward points outside Shoppers Stop are capped. Ask for the monthly cap before you treat this as a general-purpose rewards card.
• RBL is a subsidiary of Emirates NBD and is listed as RBLBANK. That does not change the customer-care path above.
• If a third-party site offers the “Black card” for a processing fee paid to a personal UPI, it is not this launch.

7. Short FAQ

Can I walk into a store tomorrow and walk out with plastic?
The companies say instant issuance is available. Bring KYC. The bank can still decline or issue a lower variant.

I already have First Citizen. Must I apply?
No. The cards are optional. Existing First Citizen stays on its own fee ladder unless you take the complimentary Gold / Platinum / Black membership that comes with the card.

I already have another RBL card. Can I convert?
Ask RBL cards (022 6232 7777). Conversion, if offered, is a bank decision, not a Shoppers Stop one.

Where do I complain about a newspaper ad vs what I got?
Start with both customer-care IDs, attach the 21 August release, then RBI CMS if the bank’s product does not match the advertised benefits after they have had time to reply.

Is this investment advice?
No. A credit card is revolving debt. Pay the statement in full if you only want the rewards.
