Lunglei: Health Minister Inaugurates Mizoram’s First-Ever NCC Fest & Parasailing Camp

Lunglei, May 9, 2026 – Mizoram’s Health & Family Welfare Minister, Pi Lalrinpuii, today formally inaugurated the state’s maiden NCC Fest & Parasailing Camp at C. Thuamluaia Mual in Lunglei.

The event, organised by the 2 Mizo Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC), marks a historic milestone for youth development and NCC activities in the state.

The Minister was received by Lunglei High Powered Committee Vice Chairman Pu V. Malsawmtluanga, Lunglei Municipal Council Vice Chairman Pu K. Lalrinawma, and senior district officials.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Pi Lalrinpuii expressed delight that Lunglei was chosen to host Mizoram’s first NCC Fest and Parasailing Camp.

Highlighting the Vision Viksit Bharat 2047, the Minister stated that the Mizoram Government is committed to inclusive and holistic development.

She underscored ongoing initiatives such as the establishment of Mizoram State University in Lunglei and various developmental projects across the district.

Pi Lalrinpuii emphasised that the success of Viksit Bharat 2047 depends heavily on the youth, women, and marginalised sections of society.

She described the National Cadet Corps as one of the finest platforms for grooming young minds with discipline, leadership, patriotism, and global competencies.

During the programme, the Minister felicitated several NCC Alumni for their outstanding contributions and presented mementos on behalf of the NCC.

About the Camp

The Mizoram NCC Fest & Parasailing Camp is being held from May 5 to May 11, 2026.

  • Parasailing activities began on May 5 at the 2nd Bn MAP Ground, Luangmual.
  • The main NCC Fest is taking place on May 8 and 9 at C. Thuamluaia Mual.

The seven-day programme includes interactive sessions with senior government and military officials, meetings with NCC alumni, exhibitions by Border Security Force, Assam Rifles, Territorial Army, and awareness stalls by District Legal Services Authority and District Disaster Management Authority. Local handicrafts, Mizo cuisine, and cultural displays are also being showcased.

The camp has drawn enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets across the North East states, with the twin objectives of spreading awareness about NCC and motivating more young people to join the organisation.
