Kolasib, May 9, 2026 – In a bid to accelerate road construction work on National Highway 06, Kolasib Superintendent of Police Lalrinpuia Varte has issued strict traffic regulations for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) between Bilkhawthlir and Kolasib.The restrictions, issued under the powers conferred by the Mizoram State Government Notification and the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, will come into effect from May 11 to May 20, 2026. The move is aimed at enabling NHIDCL contractors to carry out construction activities more efficiently on the stretch between Bilkhawthlir (70+000 km) and Kolasib (95+000 km).Road Closure Schedule:Road Closed Periods:

Road Open Periods:
- 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

- 9:00 PM – 10:00 AM (next day)
During closure hours, HMVs coming from the Vairengte side will be required to halt at Dochhuma, while those approaching from the Silchar direction must stop at Hmawngkhawthlir.Motorists, especially truck and heavy vehicle operators, have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and make use of the designated opening windows.
