Aizawl, May 9, 2026 – The Department of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Zoram Medical College & Hospital (ZMCH), successfully observed ‘Neonatal Resuscitation Program Day’ today.

The programme was attended by ZMC & H Dean, Professor Swati M Patki, as the Chief Guest.
Highlights of the Programme
The event was organised under the aegis of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) and the National Neonatology Forum (NNF). It aimed to train medical professionals in neonatal resuscitation techniques to reduce infant mortality rates in Mizoram.
A total of 35 participants, including doctors, gynaecologists, medical officers, interns, and nurses, received hands-on training. Emphasis was laid on the critical “Golden Minute” — the first 60 seconds after birth — which plays a vital role in newborn survival.
